Synopsis: |
The current pupils and students will be the workforce and consumers of the future. In January 1995 the Government invited the telecommunications, cable, broadcasting, information technology and multimedia industries to work with the education community to develop through a programme of industry-funded pilot projects - commonly accessible national, and ultimately international education superhighways. This consultation paper prepared by the four UK Education Departments, with advice from the National Council for Education Technology offers the opportunity to contribute to the debate and sets out the criteria by which the new proposals will be assessed. The Government will fund the evaluation of the new proposals. The outcomes of the consultation should be published in the Autumn. |
