Synopsis: |
In Stock: 1 - 2 days Local Government Ombudsmen investigate complaints of injustice arising from maladministration by local authorities and certain other bodies. Local Government Ombudsmen for England are members of the Commission for Local Administration in England, and this is funded by the Office of the Deputy Prime Minister (ODPM) which bears policy responsibility for the legislative framework within which the Ombudsmen system operates. This report contains oral and written evidence taken by the Committee in order to examine the role and effectiveness of Local Government Ombudsmen for England. The Committee recommends that the ODPM publishes a summary of progress made to address the recommendations of the Commission in its 2003 review of the operation of the system and legislative framework. |
