Powerful landlords rule the coal-fields in 18th century Scotland. Jay Jamisson presides over the mine where men, women and children toil. Rebel miner, Mack McAsh, challenges the Jamisson family. When Jay enforces the law binding him to the mine, Mack flees to London to help lead the famous poor uprising of 1768.
