Romantic drama set in World War Two. Dirk Bogarde stars as Michael Quinn, an RAF pilot who is sent on a Japanese language course in Delhi, India. There he falls in love with and marries his beautiful tutor Sabbi (Yoko Tani), and the two marry. But despite their deep love, Michael has the persistent feeling that something has been left unsaid between them. When he is later posted to Burma and parted from his beloved Sabbi, he is captured by the Japanese and taken prisoner. While in the POW camp, he finally learns his wife's tragic secret. |
