Isabelle Huppert and Jeanne Balibar star in Raul Ruiz's mystery thriller. When her nine-year-old son Camille suddenly claims that he wants to go home to his 'real' mother, Ariane (Huppert) agrees to play along with it and takes him to the address he supplies. The woman who lives there, Isabella (Balibar), who has recently lost a child in a drowning accident, welcomes young Camille as if he were her own son. Ariane is puzzled by this strange scene, and when Isabella then returns home with them, she is left to discover how her son came to know this mysterious woman. |
