Set in Edinburgh, Rebus' (Stott) investigations lead him through the city's ancient beauty and into its more sinister quarters. In 'Knots and Crosses', when the trial of two drug dealers collapses, Rebus's handling of the case is called into question. In 'The First Stone', the Moderator elect of the Church of Scotland is found murdered alongside his supposed lover, with suspicion falling on the woman's husband. But when a rival for the church position is also murdered, old secrets and lies threaten the present. In 'Resurrection Men', Siobhan (Claire Price) takes charge of a murder case while Rebus attends a guidance course. As the case progresses, she desperately needs his help, as DCS Templer (Jennifer Black) starts to pull rank. In 'The Naming of the Dead', Rebus is warned off investigating a murder in the grounds of the venue for the World Trade Summit. |
