Description: |
All nine episodes of the satirical adventure series written by and starring ex-Monty Python member Michael Palin, with additional writing by Terry Jones. Each episode is a self-contained parody of the Victorian 'Boy's Own'-style of story. In 'Tomkinson's Schooldays' a young boy tries to avoid the brutality of the school bully. 'The Testing of Eric Olthwaite' sees the most boring boy in the world become involved with a gang of bank robbers. In 'Escape From Stalag Luft 112B' a First World War POW finds himself the only one left in camp after everyone else escapes. 'Murder at Moorstones Manor' sees an aristocratic family all confess to a brutal murder. In 'Across the Andes by Frog' a famed scientist tries to study the migration habits of a species of frog, while being constantly disturbed by local customs. 'The Curse of the Claw' is about a family affected by a deadly Burmese curse. In 'Whinfrey's Last Case', German spies menace a peaceful Cornish village. 'Golden Gordon' sees a fanatical football fan try to round up veteran players to save his beloved team. Finally, in 'Roger of the Raj' a humble chemist finds himself caught up in the Indian uprising. |
