| Description: |
Angela Lansbury stars in this seasonal family musical set in the early 1900s. Santa Claus (Charles Durning) is so busy preparing for his annual toy delivery that he has been neglecting his wife, Mrs Claus (Lansbury). Determined to have an adventure of her own, Mrs Claus takes the reindeer and sleigh out for a drive, but is forced to make an emergency landing in New York. There she takes lodgings with a family of Jewish immigrants who don't celebrate Christmas, befriends many of the local children and women and becomes involved with political issues of the day such as forced child labour and the women's suffrage movement. |
