| Description: |
When young Sujata's parents are killed in a cholera epidemic, Upendra and his wife Charu decide to take her in, and, despite opposition from the likes of Giribala, bring her up alongside their daughter Rama as if she were one of the family. Years later, when the two girls have grown up, Upendra and Charu hope that Rama will be united in marriage to Giribala's grandson Adhir, but when he visits the house Adhir falls in love with Sujata, and she with him. Sujata is thus faced with a terrible decision: either chose Adhir and break the hearts of those who have cared for her, or have her own heart broken through the surrender of the one she truly loves. |
