| Description: |
As they grow into adults, childhood friends Devdas (Dilip Kumar) and Parvati (Vyjayantimala) realise that a great love exists between them, but they are separated when Devdas' parents send him away to study. Fate then intervenes to marry Parvati to someone else, leading the heartbroken Devdas to turn to the bottle. Eventually his drinking makes him critically ill, and he resolves to fulfil his promise of coming to see Parvati before his death. |
