Description: |
Horror triple bill comprised of films either starring or directed by David Hemmings. In 'Harlequin' (1980), Nick and Sandra Rast (Hemmings and Carmen Duncan)'s young son, Alex (Mark Spain), is suffering from leukaemia and they will do anything to help him. When they come across a faith-healer, Gregory Wolfe (Robert Powell), Sandra is impressed. But Nick is soon to be running for senator and his mentor Doc Wheelan (Broderick Crawford) doesn't approve of Wolfe. Wolfe then begins to behave in a most unexpected way. In 'Thirst' (1979), whilst out getting the papers and milk one morning, Kate Davis (Chantal Contouri) is drugged and abducted by a group of vampires calling themselves The Brotherhood. They tell her she is a descendant of one of their leaders and try to persuade her to join them, thus making them more powerful. Kate tries everything to get away but it seems The Brotherhood will stop at nothing to initiate Kate into their superior race of new vampires. Finally, in 'The Survivor' (1980), a mid-air jet disaster leaves only one survivor, the pilot (Robert Powell), who is wracked with guilt and puzzled as to the cause of the crash. With the help of a young woman (Jenny Agutter) he sets out to avenge the deaths of the passengers - who will not release their grip on him until he does so... |
