Description: |
Box set of blaxploitation films from the 1970s. 'TNT Jackson' (1975) is an action film set in Hong Kong, starring former Playmate Jeanne Bell. TNT Jackson (Bell) arrives in Hong Kong to find her missing brother, and dispenses some kung fu to thugs who try to steal her luggage. This is only the start of TNT's own unique brand of street justice - she is 'a one mama massacre squad' no-one should mess with. In 'The Black Six' (1974), a black high school student is caught dating a white girl by the girl's brother. He and his biker gang beat the boy to death. The boy's brother, who is a member of a black biker gang, hears about it and comes to town to avenge his brother's death. 'The Black Godfather' (1974) tells the tale of J.J. (Rod Perry), a rising star in the black crime scene, who is in the process of consolidating his power over the neighborhood. One of the only remaining obstacles is the white heroin cartel that is understandably reluctant to abandon such a lucrative market. Tensions rise between the two rivals, and people on both sides get killed. Eventually, the matter is destined to come to an explosive confrontation. In 'The Black Gestapo' (1975), General Ahmed (Perry) has started an inner-city People's Army to try and relieve the misery of the citizens of Watts. When the locals are terrorised by Mafia thugs, Ahmed's second-in-command Colonel Kojah (Charles P. Robinson) asks for permission to start a protection squad to take more direct action. Ahmed fears this protection squad will turn into a vigilante mob, and his prediction soon comes true. Will Ahmed be able to wrest control back from the power-mad Kojah, or will he be the mob's next victim? In 'Black Fist' (1976), Leroy Fisk (Richard Lawson) is a man with problems. In debt to the almighty Mr Big, he finds himself with no option but to learn the dirty tricks of street-fighting and degrade himself by fighting for cash. Fisk then embarks on a life of violence, double-crosses and fast, foxy chicks - but his wife has also been murdered somewhere along the way, and Fisk vows to take his revenge. In 'Get Christie Love' (1974), feisty, foxy Christie Love (Teresa Graves) is the first black woman to be hired by a big city police force and she's now going to prove her mettle by going undercover to bust a drugs ring. This blaxploitation epic inspired a short-lived television series, and was later immortalised in Quentin Tarantino's 'Reservoir Dogs' when it was discussed by the colour-coded protagonists. |
