In 'Intolerable Cruelty' (2003), George Clooney stars as Miles Massey, a divorce lawyer who always wins his case until he comes head to head with the scheming, money-grabbing, yet alluring, Mrs Marilyn Rexroth (Catherine Zeta-Jones). Miles and Marilyn each embark on their own ruthless romantic missions to outdo one another and amass great wealth. Sparks fly in this battle-of-the-sexes comedy directed by the Coen brothers. In 'The Holiday' (2006), Iris (Kate Winslet) is in love with a man who is about to marry another woman. Across the globe, Amanda (Cameron Diaz) realises the man she lives with has been unfaithful. Two women who have never met and live 6000 miles apart, find themselves in the exact same place. They meet online at a home exchange website and impulsively switch homes for the holiday. Iris moves into Amanda's L.A. house in sunny California as Amanda arrives in the snow-covered English countryside. Shortly after arriving at their destinations, both women find the last thing either wants or expects: a new romance. Amanda is charmed by Iris's handsome brother Graham (Jude Law) and Iris, with inspiration provided by legendary screenwriter Arthur (Eri Wallach), mends her heart when she meets film composer Miles (Jack Black). In 'Along Came Polly' (2004), Reuben (Ben Stiller) is a risk assessor for an insurance company, and hates taking risks of any kind. But when his new bride runs off with the diving instructor on their honeymoon, he begins to wonder if his risk assessment is so accurate after all. On his return from his disastrous honeymoon, he runs into the beautiful, free-spirited Polly (Jennifer Aniston), an old acquaintance from junior high, at a party. But is he ready to put his feelings on the line, let himself go and have some fun with her? In 'Maid In Manhattan' (2002), Jennifer Lopez (J-Lo to her friends) stars as Marisa Ventura, a single mother who works as a maid in one of New York's top hotels, but has aspirations to do better. Holding her back is her mother (Priscilla Lopez), who thinks she should accept who and what she is and leave it at that. However, after a case of mistaken identity, Marisa finds herself being pursued by Chris Matthew (Ralph Fiennes) who is staying at the hotel and is running for the Senate as a Republican. Egged on by her friends at the hotel (Bob Hoskins amongst them) and her son, Marisa decides to accept a date with the dashing bachelor but finds their paths are definitely not the same and she returns to her New York suburb, having lost her man and job. Will love conquer the social divide? Finally, in '13 Going On 30' (2004), Jennifer Garner stars as Jenna Rink, who at the start of the film is a typical awkward adolescent constantly dreaming of being popular and accepted as part of the in-crowd at school. During her 13th birthday party, she finds herself sitting alone and humiliated in a dark closet after being rejected during a teenage kissing game - and fervently wishes that there might be some way to avoid the trials and tribulations of the teenage years that stretch so cruelly and inevitably ahead of her. When she emerges, she gets the surprise of her life: she's popular, beautiful, successful - and days away from her 30th birthday. The only problem is, her mind has not matured to match her new womanly body, career or love life.
