David (Lukas Haas) and Lisa (Brittany Murphy) meet in a mental health facility for teenagers, where both are trying to deal with their precarious states of mind, brought on by traumatic childhoods. Lisa will only communicate in rhyme, lest her other persona comes out, whilst David is obsessive and fears touch.
