| Description: |
Three popular comedy movies. 'The Girl Next Door' (2004) stars Elisha Cuthbert as 19-year-old Danielle, a perfect, pretty 'girl-next-door' with an unexpected past. When Matt (Emile Hirsch), a straight-arrow high school senior, falls for her in a big way, he comes to realise that if he wants this very special woman, he had better be prepared to risk it all and accept her just the way she is - porn star past and all. In 'Nurse Betty' (2000), Betty (Renee Zellweger) is a waitress in a small isolated American town, unhappily married to a second-hand car dealer and in love with the leading man of a TV soap opera, Dr. David Ravell (Greg Kinnear). When a drug deal involving her husband goes horribly wrong, with him being shot dead, Betty flees his killers (Morgan Freeman and Chris Rock) and heads for LA, where she hopes to meet Dr. Ravell in person. However, the killers are hot on her heels, determined collect their final pay off. In 'Say it Isn't So' (2001), shortly after Gil Noble (Chris Klein) gets engaged to his sweetheart Jo (Heather Graham) he makes the surprise discovery that she is actually his sister and calls off the wedding. But when evidence later emerges that he and Jo are not related after all, Jo has already moved away to Oregon and is about to get married to her ex-boyfriend Jack. Nevertheless, Gil determines to win his beloved back and heads out after her. |
