Betty (Renee Zellweger) is a waitress in a small isolated American town, unhappily married to a second-hand car dealer and in love with the leading man of a TV soap opera, Dr. David Ravell (Greg Kinnear). When a drug deal involving her husband goes horribly wrong, with him being shot dead, Betty flees his killers (Morgan Freeman and Chris Rock) and heads for LA, where she hopes to meet Dr. Ravell in person. However, the killers are hot on her heels, determined collect their final pay off. |
