Review of Monumenta 2011, a major sculpture; Leviathan' by Anish Kapoor installed at the Grand Palais Paris, May/June 2011. Digital booklet and CD-audio records comments by the artist and curator Jean de Loisy + a studio preview of 'Orbit', in progress for the London Olympics 2012. In a press briefing at the studio 7th March 2011, the artist describes the Monumenta project and 'Orbit' a 123 metre high tower for the 2012 London Olympics. Journalists examine scale models and question the artist, with a further presentation by curator and commissioner Jean de Loisy, accompanied by Mark Sanchez from the CNAP Paris. The review includes background texts of the Lisson Gallery show 1985, 'Ascension' 2007, shown in Venice 2011, the Royal Academy exhibition 2009, then records a visit to view 'Leviathan'in Paris. |
