Description: |
Box set containing three movies starring Denzel Washington. In 'Courage Under Fire' (1996), Lieutenant Colonel Nat Serling (Washington), suffering from guilt after destroying one of his own tanks in a 'friendly fire' incident during the Gulf War, is assigned to investigate the death of Captain Karen Walden (Meg Ryan). Walden died in action, but accounts of her actions vary and so Serling has to discover the truth before she can be posthumously awarded the Medal of Honour. At the same time he has to come to terms with his own traumatic experiences in the Gulf. In 'Man on Fire' (1988), Creasy (Scott Glenn) is a recently-retired CIA agent who is privately hired to guard the daughter of an Italian millionaire. However, things get complicated when terrorists kidnap the girl - and Creasy must pull out all the stops to rescue her. In 'The Siege' (1998), FBI/NYPD anti-terrorist officer 'Hub' Hubbard (Washington) is called into investigate when a Brooklyn bus is bombed. The perpetrators are demanding the release of Sheik Ahmed Ben Talal, who has been kidnapped by US General William Devereaux (Bruce Willis). Hub focuses his initial search on Brooklyn's Arab community, but is shadowed by CIA operative Elise Kraft (Annette Bening), whose contact in Palestine intimates that the real problem lies elsewhere. Before Hub or Kraft can act, however, the FBI headquarters are also bombed, and Deveraux imposes a state of martial law. |
