Alex Cox directs this seedy thriller set in the gambling town of Las Vegas. When Phillip (Vincent D'Onofrio) makes a killing in a casino, the vultures soon gather to help him spend his winnings. Singer Louise (Rebecca De Mornay), in debt to the casino owner, sets her sights on innocent Phillip, enlisting the help of her lover, Jack (Billy Bob Thornton). However, Phillip's conniving brother Wolf (Michael Madsen) also arrives on the scene and he knows Louise from way back when. To make matters even more complicated, small-time hood Joey is also beginning to sniff around. |
