Synopsis: |
The Competition Commission is an independent public body which conducts in-depth inquiries into mergers, markets, and the regulation of the major regulated industries. This report presents the finding of the inquiry into the completed acquisition of Games Station Limited (Gamestation) by Game Group PLC (GAME), which had been referred to the Competition Commission for investigation and report. The Competition Commission concluded that the facts found in this inquiry did not support an anti-competitive outcome. It found that the merger of GAME and Gamestation has not resulted in, and may not be expected to result in, a substantial lessening of competition in the markets for the supply of gaming software, consoles, or peripherals in the UK. |
