Synopsis: |
This report is one of a series commissioned by Government to inform policy-makers and others about the scope for using economic instruments in the area of solid waste. Using existing data, Coopers and Lybrand have prepared estimates of the current and likely future costs of waste disposal and identified the key variables affecting the choice of disposal route. They have also evaluated options for a levy on controlled waste which is landfilled and, in particular, have examined the nature, costs and impact of implementing such options. |
